Also being noted the Guristas are on the move however the scope has not yet picked up on the story yet. Something is not right its unusual for the pirate factions to be this active at the same time. Update on the Guristas they broadcasted a message to the masses. Black Rabbits are expected to show up to defend assets. Which is unusual because Angel Cartel has access to left over Jovian tech and Guristas RnD was mostly more stolen from them than the other way around (cough Scorpion battleship, Anti-interdiction, other more dubious ships and tech)

There are smaller 'terrorist' organizations such as Equilibrium of Man, Dark Khanid and many other smaller numerous ones. There are eve online pilots groups which sided with the pirates and empires such as True Belivers, CVA, Ursha Khan, & BlackRabbits While mostly Non Player, these NPCs do have actors in them that push story line and generate deployments and many of these pirate corporations have hundreds of potential actors listed in them. These actors are used to push story along and show up when needed. These recent news posts are actual battles though most of the time or there was battles or side story incidents leading up to the event. The events news worthy on eve are about 25% non participant and 75% player driven.
